Errachidia

Er-Rachidia is a modern city in southeastern Morocco, capital of the Drâa-Tafilalet region, serving as a key gateway to Merzouga Desert. Formerly called Ksar es-Souk, it sits in an oasis along the Ziz Valley with palm groves, hot desert climate, and proximity to attractions like Merzouga’s Erg Chebbi dunes, ancient Sijilmassa ruins, and Meski’s Blue Springs. It’s a practical hub for desert trips; less touristy, sunny year-round, and blending Berber culture with oasis life.
