Midelt
Midelt is a charming Berber town in central Morocco, nestled at about 1,508 m (4,948 ft) elevation between the Middle Atlas and High Atlas mountains. Known as the “Apple City” for its vast orchards producing much of Morocco’s apples (plus walnuts and other fruits), it serves as a cool, scenic stopover on routes from Fes/Meknes to the Sahara. It’s a gateway to stunning landscapes, mining history, Berber culture, and hikes-far quieter and more authentic than the imperial cities.
